Our Village Hall
Charlton Musgrove Village Hall
A much loved and well used village hall. It was opened in December 2010 to replace an older hall after a long campaign led by the whole community. The result is possibly one of the best-appointed village halls in South Somerset.
The Hall can be hired for community events and private parties and for regular meetings of clubs and societies.
The Hall is conveniently located just 4 miles from Wincanton, 4 miles from Bruton and just 4 minutes from the A303, making it easily accessible.

The large Main Hall is a light and airy room which can, in principle, accommodate 140 seated guests. Seventy comfortable padded chairs and xx sturdy trestle tables are provided.
The ceiling has been made to a special acoustic design ensuring that sound levels are well-controlled. The room is kept at a comfortable year-round temperature by air-source heat pumps.
The hall is wired for auto-visual equipment. A fast broadband & Wi-Fi connection is provided, as is a hearing loop and a 55” smart TV. Hirers will need to provide any other AV equipment that they may require (and, if necessary, a technician to operate it).
The Hall provides modern toilets – with disabled access – as well as a baby changing area.
High folding doors lead from the Main Hall to the Meeting Room. With the doors open, the two rooms can be used together to create a much larger space. French windows lead from the Meeting Room on to the covered patio and lawn.
The Meeting Room has its own separate entrance and, when used alone, it is ideal for board/committee meetings and small events. It can seat 30 people (25 chairs are provided) around a large boardroom table. The table is very adaptable, and its size can be changed as required.
As with the Main Hall, a fast broadband & Wi-Fi connection is provided, as is a hearing loop, a 55” smart TV and a flipchart with easel. Hirers will need to provide any other AV equipment that they may require (and, if necessary, a technician to operate it).
The kitchen is fitted with commercial grade catering equipment suitable for large or small gatherings. This includes a water heater, electric kettle, gas cooker, oven, refrigerator, microwave and a commercial dishwasher.
As well as pots and pans needed for cooking or heating food, the kitchen is equipped with white crockery, cutlery, wine glasses and water glasses for XX place settings.
Outside the front door there is an attractive seating area and, below the Hall, there is a large and enclosed lawn that is ideal for picnics, children's parties and summer sports.
On the other side of the Hall there is parking for up to 80 cars.

Please note that due to Covid restrictions, the Hall is currently closed, no viewings are possible and no bookings are being taken. Hopefully things will improve and we will be able to reopen the Hall in the weeks and months ahead.
